Advice & Information Service

The Fersands SCIO has recently taken responsibility of running and managing the community centre.

As all Aberdeen City Council services have now  moved away , we are now the first stop for members of the public wanting advice on council matters and many other issues.  So we offer advice and give information , made hundreds of phone calls and emails to support families  and signpost residents from all over Aberdeen to access council services or services from other agencies.

We have also supported residents with Employment Support, applications , jobsearch, CV building, references. We have offered support to residents with benefit problems  or people having problems gaining access to any on line service; Emailing  Photocopying , Scanning ,.

We are also pleased to host Citizens Advice Bureau and Pathways Employment, outreach services in the centre offering the community more valuable expert services on their doorstep.

This year we have distributed around eighteen thousand pounds of supermarket food or clothes vouchers to families or individuals in most need. These can bring enormous relief to families but also build trust between workers and help introduce other forms of support to families .
